Keith and the field construction staff worked an exhaustive schedule of rotating 12 hour shifts for over 500 consecutive days, sometimes in harsh weather conditions. This work was part of the USACE’s ongoing efforts to repair over 500 miles of levees damaged by the flooding of 2019. Keith and our field construction staff managed all civil construction activities for this project, including construction of ring levees at each of the breaches, building a set back levee, repairing erosion along critical sections of the levee system, reconstructing the levee crest, regrading, placing rip-rap, and removing sediment and debris on the levee slopes, crest and berms. The scope of this work involved closure of three levee outlet breaches, located along an 18-mile levee system constructed along the Missouri River outside Thurman, Iowa. Keith has demonstrated outstanding execution of project, instituted site safety and health requirements, and has shown a strong work ethic over the past 18 months on our $60M USACE Rapid Response, L-594 levee repair project, under our Klutina River Contractors JV between ADB and CDM Smith.
